Day 38: Lungs getting stronger!

Lily had a good day! She's responding well to the betamethasone, and docs were able to wean her down to 35% oxygen this evening! That's down from up to 65% yesterday. Her oxygen saturation is holding well, so they're going to try reducing the settings on her ventilator - from SiPAP (Synchronized non-invasive Positive Airway Pressure) to CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). So this means Lily will be doing all of her own breathing, with no extra pressure bursts (to remind her to breathe)... just continuous air pressure, like a small sleep apnea mask.

They increased Lily's feed rate to one 17ml/hr bolus, every two hours. Shes's still tolerating it well! Here's a picture of her having happy dreams - we really can't wait to bring this kiddo home!

Thank you all for the support, for the prayers and for the good vibes. Every day is a miracle!

  1. Looks like she fatting up! Maegan ( my grand daughter) has to check on Lily every day, she's the topic of our conversations in the mornings.
