Day 13: a good day

Today was a boring day for lily... so, a good one! Relatively speaking, as usual.
Lily's abdominal scan from this morning showed that the gas buildup had diffused, so docs were able to start lily back up on her feeding tube. They halved the rate from 3 to 1.5 ml/hr, so a small setback, but nothing to be too concerned about.

Lily did end up getting the PIC line (IV in arm, with a catheter feeding up to her heart) last night, since they had to remove her umbilical IV which was no longer useable. The PIC line is good as long as lily needs it, and it'll reduce the need to stick her with peripheral IV's, which generally have a life of about 10 days.

In GREAT news, it was confirmed that the pneumatocele is gone! So the jet ventilator has technically served its purpose... But they're going to keep her on it for another week or so, until they can wean her down on the settings. She was at about 35% oxygen for most of the day, stat'ing in the high 80/low 90s, with only a handful of less severe de-stats.

So, today was a good day. First day back at work, too, and it went well. Sara had a tough visit to the wound center, but she's feeling better now. We're both becoming a little more accustomed to this new "normal" - the shock has now completely worn off, and we're taking it a day at a time.

Staying positive, filled with hope, and hoping for another good day tomorrow. Thank you everyone for your continued prayers and well wishes- they are greatly appreciated.
